A practice to "Take the Pressure Off". Using pranayama, asana, and guided yoga nidra this workshop will aim to provide a foundational practice for those students with hypertension, anxiety, or for those wanting to leave their stress behind for a morning!
According to the heart and stroke foundation, 40% of Canadian adults are either hypertensive (high blood pressure) or pre-hypertensive; a statistic that is on the rise. Scientific research has proven a decrease in blood pressure and heart rate through the practice of certain yoga techniques.
This workshop is also appropriate for the Yoga Teacher who wants to learn more about hypertension and anxiety, appropriate modifications, and associated contra indicators.
