How to Improve Your Health with Self Awareness
If you want to improve your health, you need to be aware of the things which fill you with energy and make you stronger. You also need to be aware of the things which rob you of energy and make you weaker. Obviously, you need to spend more time on the energising activities and less time on the de-energising activities. The following questions will help you to identify the appropriate activities:
- What makes you feel really good?
- What feelings and sensations do you experience when you feel good?
- What are the signs that you are pushing yourself too hard?
- Which activities do you feel are good for you?
- Which activities make you feel great?
- Which activities are having a negative impact on your health?
To improve your health, you need to be curious, aware and proactive. Take notice of how you are feeling and how your body and mind react to the demands which you place upon them. You may need to do some research (ask experts rather than conduct internet searches) and you may have to experiment to find the best approaches for you, but when you are more self-aware and you pay attention to your body and mind, you will swiftly improve your health. Ask yourself the six questions above, on a regular basis; act on your responses and you will soon improve your health to the desired standard.
What is Gyan Mudra (yAN MOO-dra)?
Gyan Mudra: the mudra of self awareness. It is a powerful mudra (or hand position) practiced for thousands of years by yogis that brings peace, calm, and spiritual progress. It relates to the planet Jupiter. In addition to its many spiritual qualities, Gyan Mudra has wide and varied health benefits, making it one of the most practiced mudras of all.
How to do Gyan Mudra:
Connect the thumb and the forefinger (tip to tip, not tip to nail, which is another "active" variation of Gyan Mudra). The other fingers are straight but relaxed. Pressure between the thumb and forefinger is light.
